Hi all members!
This is my first post in this forum after reading of almost 1000 of them since June 2002. Those were very informative, thanks for everyone!
I have opened this topic, because i couldn't find any description about Karaoke show! I was reading about Karaoke Bars, locations, prices, etc, but nothing about the show itself!
For some reasons I didn't heared about it anything! It sounds very interesting, so I would like to ask all of members, drop a few lines here if you have any experience about it, or even if you know what is this exactly!

I am planning to arrive into BKK in February 2003! I can't wait to arrive there!

No, seriously, the guests sing for everybody present, somettimes there is a stage, and you have a selection of songs, where the backing is played and the words come up on a screen.
In most K-bars I have been to in Thailand there are hostesses who may sing with you or to you also, and they are approachable for the night if you like each other.
Enjoy.
My alltime high was in a Brazilian bar in Fukushima.
There were 30 hostesses there.
When it was my turn to sing I did "Back In The USSR" (Beatles)
When we got to the verse about
"The Ukrain Girls really Nock you out, the y leave the West behind",
it turned out all the hostesses were on 6 month work permit from the Ukraine, not Brazil. and they went wild. I had the night of my life. Hooked on Karaoke bars ever since.

my only experience is to go with a few ladies.
as far as i see,you go to the place and choose a song and sing it.
many karoake places in LOS,all you need to do is to get the girl and then go and do your own thing.
i wanted to sing 'Hotel California',yes i know sad of me,but ended up with 'sealed with a kiss'

Many, if not most, karaoke bars have private rooms where you and a group of friends can go to sing amongst yourselves. Of course, female companionship will be available for a modest fee, either you select them in the bar first or they'll bring a line-up to your room.

That's what I was thinking about! It sounds like if you wanted to be celebrated by your company, even if you are the worst singer of the world! "You are the star!" feeling!  I like it!

cant personally vouch for it .... but Im told the reason that the singing often stops in Counter Karaoke, [ at least the one close to dance fever ] is that once you have the nike in your hands, the girls give you a BJ !! may help you hit the high notes perhaps ...

at the counter karaoke bars near dance fever, i thin you have to buy two or three drinks for them. you can ask ABC more about this info. since his translators friend has membership there.
