I will be back in Thailand from May until August of 2003. There is no way in hell I'm coming back to the U.S. this time without experiencing the Bangkok nightlife for myself. I plan on going all out and making it count (b/c I probably won't do this type of trip more than the once). Now, if money isn't really an option (although I'd still like to keep it w/in some reason) and neither really is time (if that matters), how would you guys suggest starting? Do I start off with something slow like grabbing a beer at a bar and just watching for a while? Or do I dive right in and head to a MP? These are my list of priorities:
1. that the girls be extrememly attractive (I know there aren't many guys looking for fat/ugly girls but I what I mean is that I'm willing to sacrifice other things such as money, willingness to do kinky things, etc. for a girl that's really hot)
2. I'm also willing to sacrifice a little extra money/sexual expertise for women that are more disease free (i.e. I don't think I can justify doing it with a freelancer if it really is that much safer to do it with a BG)
3. I'd rather do things at a nicer place such as an established MP or back at my hotel (which, by the way, what is the nicest hotel that I can stay at but still be close enough to the action and not have the hotel staff give me a hard time?)
I guess my question really boils down to this: knowing what you guys know now, if you could go back in time and give yourself a big wad of cash and an intricate/detailed itineray of things to do/see on your first trip to Bangkok, what would it be?
Thanks so much in advance for your help. Your posts have already been a huge help (I probably wouldn't even have gotten the nerve to go through with it if I hadn't read all your great posts).

Hey brother Maverick, welcome to the brotherhood. You say you don't want to return to the US without experiencing the nightlife in LOS. You also say that you're going to be there for 3 months. My advice, take your time and enjoy everything LOS has to offer. Visit a few of the places that have been mentioned by the bros on this forum. Go to a couple MP's and have a look at what's available, have a drink and move on to the next one. Visit a few gogos, see what's what and then try the beer bars. Also spend at least a little time in Soi 7 beer garden or Thermae just to check out the freelance scene first hand. Also make damn sure you attend a round table and give the bros a chance to corrupt you real good  . You're there for 3 months so it's not like you only have a week and you have to rush things. Take some time to get the hang of things. Also I don't know what all you did the last time you were in LOS but there are other things beside the nightlife. I wish I could go there for 3 months because everything I want to see is impossible with those 1 or 2 week trips. Have fun and take your time. Peace

Thanks for the message cmore. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things from my first message that I realized might be a little misleading. First, I will be in Thailand for a few months but I will be working for most of it. Therefore, even though I could go do "fun" stuff the entire time I am there (and I very well might--they can't work me ALL the time), I am thinking more about what to do for the week/plus that I plan on being there solely for the purpose of enjoying myself (i.e. before I start working). With respect to what I did the first few times I was in Thailand, I was always with family (including family from Thailand) so I did all the family-oriented tourist stuff (I can't even remember how many watts I saw). For that week or so when I first get there this time around, I plan on being a complete debaucherous glutton--sex, food, alcohol, rinse (shower) and repeat.
Anyway, thanks again for your message. And, if it's okay with you guys, I will definitely come visit a round table meeting while I'm there.

The second message of yours changes things a bit.
First, if you're going to be there three months (even while working) you'll have plenty of time to do everything. So just take it slowly and don't force anything. Visit every possible type of club just to see what they're like (including Thermae, BJ bars, all the various pool, beer and gogo bars...) even if you don't think you'll like them. Since you have time you can always just have a beer and walk away. I suspect you'll probably end up being a regular at an upscale "entertainment complex" like Poseidon and clubs such as Orbit and Q-Bar, but I don't think you should start with those.
There are only two major mistakes you can make, given that time and money are not huge issues.
1) being careless and unsafe
2) getting too attached to a single girl too soon (or her getting attached to you)
I'm not going to give you the list of everything that you need to do (the list always changes), just keep checking the board and add to your own personal list.

One thing I always do is I have a look for a bar/gogo where I feel comfortable and try and get to know some of the staff/manager. I make sure the girls know I won't barfine there, the girls normally accept it and this way I have somewhere where I can just sit and chill if I feel like it.
Anytime I need a break for the night I can go there and won't be hassled for BF's or anything and I can have a great night out, quite often some of the girls join me anyway, specially if they feel like having a quiet night themself and just want to sit and chat.
As for your first night, going to a MP (Annies?) and having some fun for the first hour or two can help take the edge off.
Since you have been in LOS before, I'm sure you know it won't be too long before you find a beauty that is just what you are looking for, but I have found that even while looks can be a very important factor, the attitude of a girl will usually be even more important. I've met girls that I wouldn't have picked up based on their looks but we clicked and they really! wanted to make sure I had a fantastic night with them.
