hello friends. im planning on travelling to hong kong to watch my football team (everton) play in a couple of games in may, then carrying on to thailand for a week. ill be travelling alone but i want to meet likeminded people to share a beer with. ive heard there are bars with kick boxing rings in where you can watch local fighters kick seven shades of shit out of each other. is it true? is bangkok much more expensive than the rest of the country? i will be taking plenty of pictures of myself hanging out of thai girls and ladyboys so hopefully there are some good traders on the forum. is may usually a hot time of year? if anybody would like to meet up please dont hesitate to get in touch. thanks, paul

April / May are the hottest months...lat year was a particular stinker....people here longer than I said it was the hottest they'd ever known.......but we all have short memories to things being the best hottest coldest....LOL I personally wouldn't bother with kick boxing bars...it's not the real thing....better to get a decent night at a proper stadioum, Lumpini or Ratchadamnoen. Now then...I was in Amsterdam the night of Evertons European triumph.....and they all arrived after the game from Rotterdam.....wild evening......no nicking the hotel ashtrays when you are here!!

EP I know a little of track, but if you book Emirates, to Bankok, then on to Hong Kong, then the extra leg costs very little extra. I think the reason for this is that the flight from UK to Bangkok is the same plane that continues on to Hong Kong. You can book to Hong Kong but stay in Thailand for a few days before continuing on to Hong Kong. I have used this route on my last 8 trips to Hong Kong

HK.. great place to visit....expensive.....forget about women there if you are on a short stay. Book your hotels in advance. This usually gets a better price than the walk in rate There are enough posts on this forum, but my opinion is to stay close to the skytrain or you will be wasting your time in taxi's. Not sad to travel alone. You won't stay that way for long
