Hi all,
Has anyone bought any trainers or shoes in BKK? How much did they cost. Just wondering should I bring over a new pair or wait till I get over there?

Cost? it depends what you buy. Like in Ireland, there is a wide range of prices -do not tell me that in Ireland all trainers have the same price.
What to do? Very very very tough to decide.
1) bring your own
2) do not bring and buy new ones here
3) bring your own. buy a new pair and throw away the old ones. or take both back at the end of your trip
I really think that you have some major decisions ahead. Good luck.

Actually it's not that stupid of a question and he posted it in newbie questions so maybe a couple ticks down on the sarcasm (or not - who cares really)
In alot of thai malls they don't have the bigger falang sizes (end at size ten think)
but near falang centers like walking street in pattaya and sukhumvit/silom usually no problem

hmmm... maybe a couple of ticks up.
anyway, for all out there who do not know what to bring or what to buy, ask us. we can give you all kinda of info regarding underwear, toiletries, shirts, boots, scarfs, coats to bring -those with inside furs are good for the cold Thai climate. Bring your own gloves -thai hands are small.
also, if you need info in the predominant colors available let us know. some colors are not so easily found. if you are keen in buying fucsia shirts with a hint of yellow, better bring your own. not an easy find here. same goes for long underwear and fur hats.

I'm not sure if you're looking for high class trainers such as Nike, but when I was shopping at the MBK, the Nike trainer shoes were very expensive, well over 2000B. That's more expensive than in the west, but I only saw Nike shoes. I'm not sure how much other brands are. Based on my experience, I would buy them before you go to Thailand. This is just my opinion, and I might be wrong in terms of cost, but I'm just stating this based on what I saw. Happy hunting!

Should I bring underwear?
I have been wondering about that.
They might not have the ones I like there in LOS.
I like the one that look like an elephant on the front with the elephants trunk where your "jimmy" goes.
Should I bring my own?
I mean what if I DON'T bring my own then I cant find any there? I will be up shit's creek.
But what if I DO find em and the trunk part is built for the Thai man's anatomy and too small for me.
This is very confusing for me.
On second thought I think I will play it safe and bring 4 pairs of underwear and then try and buy some when I get there.
If I can't find any I will just have to do wash every 2 or 3 days.

I decided that I should just say to hell with it and bring my own underwear.
But that leads me to question #2.
Socks?
Should I bring socks?...Do they HAVE socks in LOS?
