IMHO, the average Thai guy doesn't care as long as he has the latest model car, the latest model phone, his golf handicap is reasonable, all his mortgage payments can be met, and the farangs don't go anywhere near his average Thai girl.
We need to understand that the BG is not the average TG. Infact, I know some Thai guys who don't even consider the BG's a part of the general society. The problem of prostitution is generally ignored and rarely comes-up in average Thai conversations.
Tinted glass windows, airconditioned homes and offices, modern playthings, etc allow the average Thai to escape from the reality faced by a substantial percentage of their female compatriots and they easily tend to dismiss this as a matter of personal choice.
For the average Thai, this surreal world has collapsed somewhat since 1997. But, if we look around us today, it's definitely coming back to sugar-coat the social sensibilities of the average Thai, all over again!

Average thai guy? One of the things you find in thailand is that there are distinct social classes so average isn't very easy to define. First, there's a huge difference between Bangkok and the rest of thailand. So lets just narrow it to Bangkok (a lot of women who work in MPs are not from bangkok).
Within Bangkok there's a huge ethnic chinese population which generally are better educated and wealthier. Its not that these thai's think BG's are not part of the general society, just not part of their society as the social circles are quite small here.
As for coming to screw our women, as long as you are here just to screw the girls who are selling sex, then no one cares. Its the foreigners who think that they can screw any girl thats the problem. Most thai girls won't be direct in telling a guy to go away, they'll just smile or say nothing, but some guys are just too aggressive and persistant. I've been forced on a couple of occasions to tell some guys to leave my friends/cousins alone.
So yes, there is a sex industry and you're more than welcome to partake it. But don't assume that all of thailand is your playground.

I'll probably get some condescending twat telling me I dont know jack about Thais but I find it hard to understand why the average thai guy should hate us for coming to Thailand for sex?
They (and most other southeast asian men) are bigger players than most of us when it comes to P4P, having mia nois, visiting their own brothels, KTVs etc. They just do it a lot more discreetly and separately from the Nana crowd.
It's not like they're not f_cking their women for free. We're paying our way and giving the economy a hand, thank you very much.
