Firstly let me apologise, if this isn't the right forum topic for this post, but I wasn't exactly sure where best to put it.
I will be heading back to bkk next month and for the first time will be travelling just by myself rather than with at least one friend.
I will be spending at least some of my time working but a lot of my time will be free. I wondered if any bros had tips for single travellers. I am not worried about gogos etc., because I dont have a problem going to them by myself, and for at least some of the time I will hook up with a girl I met from my last trip.
But I tend to get bored with gogos after a couple of days (yes its sad I know!) and prefer something a bit more subtle, like GT. Any suggestions anyone for fun places to go with maybe a friendly crowd, where I wont look like a leper being by myself?

Given that you have been here before with friends, you must know what type of places you like. It looks to me more than actual recommendations you are subtly trying to find friendly souls to join you for a night out. Good.
Maybe try getting together with some of the forum members at GT. Many start the night from there. Planned and not planned. Of course, the first time you may have to coordinate by PM as you may find it difficult recognizing forum bros -on pimp's night you can easily spot BK by his shinning suit.
Some guys like go-go bars more, others like MPs, other prefer GCs, some regular clubs and a few like everything.
Most of the guys in the forum are fairly easy going, charming (some are dead cute like ducksnutz) and willing to go out for a drink with any new member.
So just keep reading and posting and as the date approaches, get in touch by PM with some members or check posts for meeting activities.

I guess you are partly right in that it would be good to meet up with some like minded souls and I will follow your advice.
I was also genuinely curious about finding non P4P venues, which are single friendly just to have a beer or two and a bite to eat. I cannot remember ever really doing anything just by myself on previous trips except go-gos, for everything else (i.e. clubs, bars, restaurants etc.) I have always had at least one mate, or a TG with me.
As an opener I will be in bkk from the 22-31 August, so if anyone fancies a beer please PM me.

My humble recomendation is to PM the BK with your arrival and departure dates, and he will place you on the "members schedule", which is located at the top of this site. Find the brothers who will be in town, read some of their posts, and PM them, and invite them out for a get together. The rest is up to you.
I met my best traveling friends this way. A loner by choice on holiday, as I enjoy leaving the family behind, and the daily chatter, and listening to peoples problems, I enjoy the annonimity of a different city. But after a few days, I like to goof off with some guys, go huntining and prowling around with other likewise guys. So, again, try this method, and you might be surprized.
