Are the weekend nights the same as any other night in BKK? Which days can I expect the most action to be happening at the beer bar scene and which days are the most quiet(if any)?
During my last trip there I did not notice much of a difference however, I was only there 2 weeks and was pretty hammered each night to even notice. I'm just trying to plan my future trip (which will be split into 4 legs) around the best nights. I'm assuming the best nights are Fri and Sat but I could be wrong.

well,
acually i try to avoid to go out on a friday and saturday night as to many guys will be around for the weekend!
the scene is better during the week and also better and more beautiful girls around then.
most of the girls who did made some decent money during the week will be partying with their friends, so most action will be in the thai places like rca, sparks, pubs and discos mainly frequented by thais dancefever, hollywood also narcissus and la luna!
i myself try to get away from that and usually hit pattaya or some of the islands or go for a visa extension to manila or jakarta!
so better plan for weekdays to party instead of the weekend, unless you are a crowd lover and aren't disturbed by a male / female ratio of close to 1:1 in the bars, cm2 can get close to 2:1 on a weekend instead of the usual 1:2 or 3 ratio during the week!

I agree with Griffin, some people like myself have to work during the week, so Friday & Sat are the only days that I along with other workers can go out to 2-3:00 AM and not regret it afterwards.
For the person taking the 2 week holiday this is not an issue. On the weekend you have the added locals & people from HK, Singapore & Malaysia taking the weekend in Thailand.
Also, avoid the last day of the month in the MP's. Thai companies usually pay once a month and the MP's are burstin with the newly filled pockets on that day and weekend.

Thanks for the advise - Weekdays sounds like the ticket - I would much rather be in a scene with more girls and less guys. Personally I hate crowds and love getting all the attention from the TGs (however too much attention can be a hassle at times), especially when you zigzag from bar to bar. When you walk back to your hotel through the gauntlet of bars you previously visited you have every girl screaming out your name - kind of embarrassing. However, as long as there are plenty of women I'm happy. Also, thanks for the MP tip - duly noted.
Always wanted to visit Manila but LOS is calling me back.
