Hi, I am what you call a Newbie's newbie. As I have never been on a holiday before, not localy let alone overseas. So I have desided to take a holiday. The place, as you can guess is Thailand. I would of perfered Japan (friends, Kendo and contacts there) but the cost to travel there would be too much. So Thailand it is..... The time I want to go... now but I have to work still :< Anyway the boss gave the hint that Feb will be quiet so thats when I am planning to go. Now, since I have desided to go I have been searching the net for information I have found this place and read as mush as I can this past week. So I am ready for my first post. *Woohoo* (or *moan* depending on the reader hehehe) *Since this will be my first holiday ANYWHERE (never traveled more then 50km away from work/home) I am a real newbie. So some of these questions might sound dumb* From what I have read there is three major areas in Thailand I could travel to. Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. I am planning on staying for 2 weeks. I want to see some wonderful scenery while I am over there (beaches like thoes one you see in movies with the very large mountain like rocks sticking out etc... you get the picture) But I don't know in which of the three areas they are mainly in. Which also leads me to the of other half of the reasion I want to travel here. The girls (hey I have 12 years of catch up to do hehehe) basicly which area has wonderful scenery AND the best selection of nightlife. As I want to sample everything I can do (nightlife wise) with cute TG's (to me 99% of asian girls are cute so this trip will be very interesting). Nothing kinky... well I will see after a week or so hehehe, but I want to try LT (the girls I have been with only lasted 1-2 hours so a LT will be interesting) maybe even a 3-some (and maybe a 3-some with two bi-sexuals is such thing really excists) I read about something called a blowjob bar (I've got to try it atleast once for a laugh...... well maybe more if it is as good as people say it is hehehehe) Well thats is for my first question which could of been written simply as ... "Which is the best place to go for a first time holiday in Thailand to sample everything?'" I'll wait for replies before bombarding the forum with question on where the best (cost effective) girl-friendly hotels... best bars... best go-go.. best bj bars... ect when I have narrowed down where in Thailand I will travel to. P.S. Since I am in Australia, I am just wondering if other Aussies are here too. Maybe they can help me with advice from a Aussie point of view, about where to get Passports, visas, the best deals on airflights or even to hook up there to show me the ropes (this last point is open for non-aussies too)

hmm. 'I want to see some wonderful scenery while I am over there (beaches like thoes one you see in movies with the very large mountain like rocks sticking out etc... you get the picture) But I don't know in which of the three areas they are mainly in.' this area is Phang-nga National Park near Phuket. beach areas also found Phi-Phi Islands and Kho Sumai. BJ bars are to be found in Bangkok or Pattaya, but not Phuket. i prefer Phuket, but others will say Pattaya or Bangkok are the best. all of us will have our favourite bars/Go-Go's,so that info is no good for you. my favourite place is not yours and this also applies to the girls. i could send you photos of girls i think are the best and you might think them ugly,we are all different. no-one can tell you the best place to visit, you have to read the forum and decide for yourself. but one thing i do know for sure, you will find pretty girls all over LOS,no place will be better than others. as to the Aussie questions,it is not hard to find info about the things you mention on the internet.

Nakaleen , I would suggest 1 week in Phuket and 1 week in BKK if you only have 2 weeks. 3 places in 2 weeks might be a bit too much - unless you want to pick up and go every few days. Phuket will satisfy your urge for beautiful scenery. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and I have been to 27 different countries. If you are into water sports (Jet-skiing, parasailing, snorkeling, scuba, etc...) then Feb is perfect for Phuket - the water is very calm during that month.I have heard and read that Pattaya's water is not the cleanest due to pollution (but supposeable they have done much to clean it up - something you might want to consider if you are into water activities. One small disadvantage for Feb in Phuket is more people frequent the island during these months and hotels cost a little bit more money as opposed to going during the off season - but still extremely cheap in comparison to other vacation spots in the world. On my 3 prior visits to Phuket I have met many Australians in Phuket - all with a smile. Plus there are countless beautiful women in Phuket (lots of LT's to be had ) BKK is a must see as well. Just take a look in the Forum on all the stuff there is to do there - use the search index to look up stuff you are interesting in (most likely it has been discussed). It is hard to describe the magnitude of fun that can be had in this amazing city. Look up Eden club in the search index (for bisexual women experience) - never been to Eden but there is much talk about it. Eden is not the only place where that fetish can be realized - just one suggestion. Wherever you choose I'm sure you'll have a great time

We start a few days in BKK and finish with 2 weeks i Phuket. I've been around a bit to and Thailand is just amazing in every aspect. You'll do fine, are you travelling alone?

Nakaleen, on my first ever trip to Thailand, I spent 2 weeks in Phuket, wasted around 10 days hanging out with the same bird and made a lot of newbie mistakes. Then I went home, having experienced only a fraction of what LOS has to offer. You don't want to do that, so here's another plan of action. Base your self in Bangkok and check it out for about 3-4 days. Be strong because now you must leave (against your wishes) and go to....Pattaya! Without a doubt, this is the sleaziest part of the planet and if you are a true sleazebag like myself you'll love it. Tens of thousands of raunchy women who will literally jump you in the streets if you arent careful. After 5 days in pattaya, 2 things could happen. Either you'll sell the house and stay put. Or you might yearn for a little holiday to recover from your current holiday. If you have picked up a little cutie who you can tolerate for a few days, you and she could then take a taxi and head of to a quiet part of the coast, like Cha-am or Hua Hin. A member recently wrote a massive FR on his trip to Cha-am and it sounded sweeeet! Having said that, once you hit Thailand, all bets are off. Things rarely go to plan here. Budgets are overshot, itineraries are shredded, marriages annulled;all sorts of mayhem goes on. All i can say is, enjoy it!

You can fly into Phuket from Oz. I would stay there for the two weeks. Lots of fellow aussie to hang with. They are easy to find. Just look for the bars with your flag. I would reccomend Patong Beach for the night life. On this website go to LINKS section page down to the bottom and look for the Phuket newspaper. I think it comes out every friday. On there site check out late stay hotels for cheap hotels. Next trip and their will be a next trip and the many more that will follow. I would go to BKK, Pattaya and Chaing Mai. LOS is a great place to holiday.

Well, I'd tend to go with dagul. On a first trip to LOS, you can't ignore BKK - it's the capital & epicentre of Thai life after all. Earmark a few days for sightseeing during the day and introductory visits to the famous dens of iniquity at night. After that, judging by the scenery you describe, the place you want is Phuket. Imho, Phang Nga bay is one of the scenic wonders of the world. Stay in central Patong, and you'll have a big girlie scene right on your doorstep - but also hire a jeep so you can get around the island during the day. There's a lot to do and see down there, and if you hang around in Patong all the time, you won't get a flavour of the 'real' Phuket. Of course, you'll only be scratching the surface of LOS - next trips, you'll probably want to check out Pattaya, Samui, Chiang Mai etc for starters. But dagul's right - try to pack too many places into one short trip, and you'll spend too much time dealing with travel hassles, not enough time relaxing and getting to feel 'at home'. Anyway, you'll be back. Oh yes you will. Once bitten by the LOS bug, there's no going back...

Passport : Issued in Australia before you go. Apply now it takes a few weeks. Visa: Issued on entry to Thailand. Valid for 30 days. It gets stapled in your passport (the form is given to you on the plane) Phuket weather sucks between about May and October due to the Monsoon - however it is cheaper then. Stay in Patong. Bangkok okay any time - stay in Sukhumvit area - nothing above Soi (side street) 22 or you are outside the main night life areas. First trip; consider one week in Pattaya and one week in Bangkok, save Phuket for the next trip unless you are in Perth and flying with Thai airways. Agree with previous posts that trying to do all three on a first trip will waste time. Learn some of the language, basic phrases, some good sites on the internet. Read Stickman, the Newbies section here and anything else you can. Travel with a mate if you can, if not no worries, you'll still be okay. The first trip is the one you'll always remember even when the rest start to blur. Enjoy it!

Hey brother Nakaleen welcome to the brotherhood. Looks like brothers Minder and JHJr. have you pretty well covered. Since this is your first trip anywhere the last thing you want to do is try and plan any major side trips that require additional flights or long boat rides so I also suggest that you save Phuket for your next visit ( And we all know there will be a next visit ). My suggestion is that since you'll be arriving and departing from BKK that you try to stay within a 2 hour bus ride from BKK. Spend a few days in BKK, then try a few days in Pattaya and if by then you've met a lady that you want to spend more time with then take her to Cha Am or Hua Hin and relax on the beaches there. Make your first trip to LOS as relaxed and hassle free as possible. Peace
