Alan why you ask that? Do you know of an answer that would be different in each case? Is there a place to play and another one to watch? Can't you go watch at the same place where people go play?

What about Benjasiri Park beside the Emporium?
I remember playing basketball there... there was a court next to the basket ball court, I am sure you could play volleyball there... but first you will need to find the players.

The reason I asked about watching or playing is that I saw several women's Thai volleyball matches on Thai TV about a week ago. It looked to me like it was either high school or college. Each school had a large pom-pom section in stands.
I spent a lot of time walking through Benjasiri Park over the past month. I don't recall seeing anyone play volleyball, but not sure if there were any volleyball nets set up (with no one playing).

Like BK said, Benjasiri Park next to the Emporium (BTS: E5, Phrom Phong) would be a good starting point for finding friendly pick-up games. I gotta warn you though, over 90% of the volley ball aficionados in Thailand seem to be gay guys so if you don't have a sense of humour and an open mind, you might not like the company.
BK, I've played basketball on that court too. Wonder if I've ever dunked on you :P
