I've read through the posts regarding this, and heard some people say a Taxi from the airport should be around 300 baht, whilst overs say it shouldn't be more than 80 baht.
Could someone please tell me where to get the taxi from, and whether it's a Taxi Meter?

Get in the taxi queue just outside the arrival hall. These taxis are controlled.
80 baht? Must be very close to the airport. 
More likely in the range of THB 200-300, incl. optional highway fees/ THB 50 queue fee.

When You walk out of the airport door, look left, You see a taxistand in there.
Tell them where You are going and they get You a taxi.
Tell the driver to take the highway and ask how much because
THE PASSENGER PAYS THE HIGHWAY TOLLS.
It saves You a lot of time to take the highway.
Cost is meter + 50 THB to the driver + toll (+ possible tip).
How to know it is a taximeter ?
On taxi's roof there is a sign saying: TAXIMETER.

I know that a Taximeter taxi has TAXIMETER on the roof, but from what I remember last time the Taxi Drivers don't like putting the meter on for fanangs, and try to demand a higher fare before you get in.
Dr Love, it's not that close to the airport. I'm going to Classic Place Hotel, remember you told me it was in a state of collapse.. : (

As we said, go to the taxi stand (signs all over the place). After you arrive at your destination, you'll receive a card of the Department of Transportation,which you mail to them in case you have complains.
But don't expect any problems. These taxi drivers are too afraid to lose their place at the stand if they f*ck up.
Classic Place? Don't know when you arrive but outside traffic rush it should be no more than 250-300 baht.
State of collapse? Couple of years ago.... maybe renovated yet.....

I like the way you keep trying to re-assure me, and then get me a bit worried.......If it looks like it's gonna collapse when I get there, we'll just book into somewhere else.
If I arrive at around 7:00am on a Saturday morning, do you think the traffic will be a problem?

Bro you do know that right now is the middle of the high season in LOS and that available hotel rooms are probably very scarce at the moment. I don't know when you're planning on going to LOS but if it's anytime soon I wouldn't count on having very much luck finding vacancies on a walk in basis. You might want to try booking a back up now before you go. Just a thought . Peace

According to the Classic Place website, you can get there quite easily on the bus from the airport, route AB1. That's 100 baht per passenger and you'll be there in 20-25 minutes. There's plenty of room for all your bags and I'll never bother with an airport taxi again when traveling alone.

I'll probably get the bus, if I feel up to it. I usually have a re-occuring problem of getting completely wasted on the plane, so I'll see how I feel when I arrive.
