hello all. I was wondering if anyone has been hassled/checked at the airport either leaving LOS or into the States about having visited LOS and having a digital cam. I imagine that I will be taking some memorial shots (for lack of a better term) and with all the people in and out of LOS on the board that I could get a good idea of whether I should just ftp my memories back home or what.

If you have any photos that could be considered pornography, you could theoretically have some problems, but it is statistically very unlikely that they will search you and even less likely they would look at your pics. But FTP’ing any really explicit photos back home is not a bad idea. The danger would be if they pick you for a random search or for some other reason and find the pics. Probably the Thai would have more of a problem with some pics than US customs.

I've never heard of anyone being searched on the way out of Thailand......edit Other than security searches of course
Other than those with fridges full of drugs...but the authorities were lined up waiting for them.....

The security search on the Departure at LOS is for security purpose and has to deal mainly with the potential danger to the Aircraft and the passenger's you are boarding in. The photo's you are taking out of LOS is not their interest as it is anyway going out of the country.
The customs at Arrival on most of the Airports around the world look for Hard copies of Porno's and VHS cassetes. Most of the Airports dont usually go into your camera's and some dont even have facilities to check your DVD's and CD's.

with a digital camera just have 2 cards.
one for the fum photos and one for the cultural photos.
just enter and leave countries with the 'clean' card in the camera.

Diskettes:
Buy a box of PC diskettes.
Save your files/pictures to the disks.
"Delete" all the files on each disk after saving them, using a "Delete" command/program. (The computer does not actually delete files, only removes the first letter of the filename, but the disks then appear blank).
Use an "Undelete" command/program to restore the files.
If you want to be really tricky, leave some inconsequential files on one of the disks and put a label on that disk.
Put all disks back into the diskette box, as though you used only one of them.
AutoCAD:
AutoCAD has virtually unlimited reduction/enlargement (stegoarchive capability) so that you could hide the drawings/text of your favorite CIA drawing/file within the period at the end of a sentence within a larger drawing/file.
