Before the dogs of UTFSE are sicked on you: 1. DVDs, xbox, etc: Pantip Plaza, go up the escalator on the right, they'll find you! 2. Suit: A good suit, go to tailor shops on Sukhumvit above Soi 26. You'll pay. A cheap suit. Anywhere, they'll find you. 3. 2nd hand phone: MBK, 4th floor, know exactly what you want, believe nothing the vendors tell you. 4. Clothes. Pratunam if you want to bargain, MBK if you don't. All of the locations of these places can be found with use of the search engine, or just asking at your hotel in BKK. OK, now sic em'

Dodgy, I can give some pointers, but there is info already available, including some I have posted. DVDs, games, etc. Platip, but I found the Fortune tower to be better. You need to check into things like region codes for consoles and DVD players. Taylors are everywhere, and always have people touting for business outside. I had a good suit made at The Versaches. I have also heard good things about the Majestic Taylors. There are a couple of floors on MBK that have second hand phones for sale. I had a really good look there, comparing prices, shopping around. Second hand phones were reasonable, but not what I would call bargain prices, unless we are talking real antiques. Coloradoguy is spot on about the clothes. Pratunam has loads of knock-offs, and if you look, you can get some reasonable quality. at least better than on SUK road. MBK is a combination of both. My suggestion, get your suit ordered on day one so you can go back for some fittings. MBK is huge, and can take a day if you are a shopper/bargain hunter. Same for Plantip if you are into technology. Fortune tower an hour or so. One final piece of advice, if you long time a girl, and get on with her. Ask her to come and help bargain for you. My TGF was bargaining down prices for things I was buying for my GF back home.

Go to Indra Hotel. Behind it there is a huge "thai style shopping mall" where brand clothes (Tommie Hilfinger, Lacoste, Nautilus, Lee, Levis, Polo...) are easy to find (it is called Pattunam market or Watergate), here you can buy a lot of cheap clothes and other things. In this area you are close to CP2, but I assume that you are here just for shopping... Dont forget to bargain and smile! Another place is Chinatown, go to Old Siam Plaza, close to it you will find Soi Wanit 1 a small lane with a lot of shops surrounding it, close to it you will find Nakhon Kasem (The thieves market) and there will be a lot of possible shopping, sight seeing and you are close to Texas Café and Massage. Take a boat tour to Ratchawong and you will be close. Have a nice shopping!

With regard to Majestic Tailors - I got stuff made here over the years and they are good - but dont go for the cheap materials, Mr Singh will sell and sell the better materials, coz he does make more money on them - but they also last much better. I got suits in 1998 that I just chucked out a few months back (well worn), and others in 99 and 2000 that are still going strong.
