I live in Midwest USA, the Bible belt. My family are extremely religious and biased against any 'sinful' activity. There have been a lot of questions raised from my family and friends of why I am actually going to BKK in AUG (04). They ask, "Did you know about all the sex tourism over there? And they sell out children for sex?" I claim that I have limited knowledge of the sexual activity going on, but this is not the why I am going. LIE! How in the hell do I remain squeaky clean and yet live a 'sinful' life? I definately aint into children as this is totally distasteful and outright unethical. I am just tired of American pussy and the games they play. I just wanna get a taste of the good life like all my brothers on this forum.

Well you might not find the answer in this forum but you are certainly coming to the right place.
Thai BGs are extremely adept at combining their deep religious convictions with their night time activities and seem to see no obvious conflicts of interest. (I have never really understood this but, have to admit, I havent delved too deep). Anyway you will be genuinely impressed that the average BG is as religious as your neighbours but infinitely more talented in other areas. And at least you will have something to talk about...

That ought to shut them up. Better yet, see if the have teenage boy in the 18-19 year old range, and take him with you. That alone should keep the confessional busy for at least another year.

Go to see the Grand Palace one of your afternoons and squeeze off a lot of pictures. Get a few pics of the Chao Phraya river while you take a boat ride back to Silom. Maybe get a few photos at the night market or if you have time go to the floating market and take some pretty shots. When you go back home show them these pics and tell them what a wonderful time you had experiencing the culture.
Maybe that will ease their minds...
