Hi all,
I'm going to bkk in two weeks. I saw some of the pics of the girls in Thaniya and was curious to see if I can get in w/o being jap. I like the lighter skin girls. I have met some jap guys in gogo bars and we hang out...hopeful I can find one this trip that could get me into thaniya for a look. What are my chances of going alone there...being a good looking asian with thousands of US dollars to spend in a few days?

With a Jap friend in tow, you should get into most Thaniya places. If you speak any Japanese at all, you may even be able to 'pass' without difficulty.
One tactic might be to go with a Japanese friend one night, make some club contacts and grease a few palms, then try again by yourself. If you're already known & appreciated there...

Well, possibly so - but as a Brit I think they're being a tad over-sensitive. Maybe Aussies feel the same. Why should a simple contraction be considered disparaging?
The PC keenness to take offence where none is intended gets mighty tiresome.
In protest, I shall deny Thaniya my presence and continue to haunt Suk (sorry, Sukhumvit).

The problem about Jap..anese joints are you either have to be Japanese or have a Japanese to recommend you in. And that applies to Japanese joints all over the world (well, at least in Asia).
