Depends if your on holiday or working?? If it's a holiday get out of the city and explore a little do a week in BKK go to an Island go to Chang Mai and tour a little then end with some more day's in BKK. For me a month would be to long especially during the hot season

Agreed with Mo. get yourself up north...maybe even visit the fabulous Mae Hong Son and see some real 'countrylife' thailand! You will regret it if you dont do at least a few days doing this. Bangkok will still be tehre for you afterwards and I often find that a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city helps add a new dimension to things.

Mo, I did 28 days in Thailand in Jan/Feb. I'd recommend 6-8 days TOTAL in BKK. 3-4 on arrival and the same before departure from Thailand (in the middle you can think about what you missed and still have time to do it). Pick up brochures and take notes. Move on to Pattaya for 7-10 days. Try EVERYTHING! Go to one (or two) of the islands. I did 4 days on Ko Samui (fly Utapoa to Samui) and it was too short. Others will say different (I'm sure they're right) but there wasn't much to do that I found but I'm not a big "sightseer". I stayed in Lamai as I heard it was a nice place to relax and get laid (it is on both counts). Back to Pattaya for another 7-10 days. Depending on the length of stay in different places you should be getting close to wanting to get back to BKK and give the Eden Club another whirl before you head home. Make reservations everywhere without giving a credit card guarantee if you can. Of course, have the courtesy to cancel before you're supposed to arrive if plans change. Be flexible and go where you feel.

When you have a month. Do saty in BKK for 4/5 days at arrival and decide then if you would like to stay any longer or like to return in the remainder of your vacation. Do not plan too much! Travelling arrangements are made easily and hotels are not difficult to come by. I suggest that you might go up North to Chiang Mai and explorew a few days from there. For the beach experience, go down to Phuket or when you like it a bit more quiet go to either Khao Lak or Krabi. If you decide to go to Pattaya, do not stay too long..... it has not many positive point other than loads of bars and girls. And those you can find anywhere in Thailand. Again, do not plan to much and move when you think it is time to move to your next destination. My first stay in Thailand ended up with 7 weeks in Bangkok before I went for 1 week to Phuket...... So much for advance planning.

Hey guys, it all depends on what/where you live before bkk, if your not from a big city then bkk will be of vast amusement to you, besides the obvious, the hustle n bustle, tuk tuks, fume, food stalls, each to there own I guess.... Not many plans are stuck to in thailand so go with the flow, what ever you,ll be back.
