Five nights at Novotel Lotus and then 6 nights at Sheraton Grande. This is my done deal itinerary as I have already paid through priceline.com. $45 for Novotel Lotus and $70 for Sheraton Grande.
While in bangkokchat.com, several residents of BKK have stated that I will become bored with BKK after 5 or 6 days. Is this true? Ruled out Pattaya because it looked very dirty from the pix I have seen. Ruled out Phuket because I will be going there with two friends in December. Is there a good website that has a listing of all the day tours from BKK?

Last time I was in BKK it was for 30 days and I was never bored (and it was not my first time). You can get tour information in the lobby of your hotel or you can search google right now for information.
Shopping for cheap clothes, software, and DVD's will occupy part of your time. MBK, Emporium, Pantip Plaza, and Chatuchack Weekend Market are full day outings for each. Make sure you have good walking shoes because you can walk several miles inside some of the shopping centers. First run American movies in a very nice theatre at the Emporium are cheap, and you can spend time working out or lounging by the hotel pool.
There are also lots of interesting places to eat, so I would take the time to seek them out. You will be right on the BTS Skytrain, so getting around most parts of town will easy (get as close as you can via the BTS and then take a cab if needed).
I assume you know what to do in the evenings.

What the replies are proving is the usual 'different strokes' for folks theory, which of course means that anyone who asks if they will get bored doing something they have never done, is just plain dumb.

What Yurune is saying is more than true and I just have to agree 100%. Thailand has an entertainment segment that is a small fraction of the whole scene. Have fun there but stop considering the whole Kingdom as some big cathouse! It is not. Yurune knows what he´s talking about, and even if I am not as experienced as him I have been there regularly since 1977 - never ever bored!
Wake up at noon - go out and just stroll around or join a small excursion. There is more to see and experience than you can imagine - if you are receptive to it! Those guys just curing hangovers in the daytime are a sorry bunch in my humble view!
