Hi all, last time on our vist to bkk late last year we fell out of nep and picked up a cpl of fls. as we were still in the drinking mood they took us to a very big open air restaurant/ bar approx 5-10 mins taxi meter ride from nana (apparently owned by the mafia!!!). Music was playing over the whole area and it was hammered with thais.
Just wondered if anyone has any ideas where it was or what it was called.

If all the tables and brollies were yellow, then it might have been the Ambassador beer garden in front of the Ambassador hotel. There is live music there.
I have seen a number of Thai's there, as well as farangs

5 or 10 minutes per taxi can not be lower Sukhumvit and neither the Ambassador (closes before 2AM anyway). Guess it might be at Rachada. Here there is plenty activity after 2 AM and food with music to be found. Also you won't find many farang here as it is out of their regular areas. Do not recall the name.....

It might have been Paw Khung Pao
on Ratchada that same square where the Ratchada Cabaret is.
Full of Thais and used to stay open really late.
Don't really know now.

thanks everyone. if I remember right the tables and chairs were round and like the straw whicker type and the seating area used to follow the building round sort of like a half circle.

I don't think it's Paw Kung Pao anyway.
There are no straw whicker type chairs and tables.
And you'r right 5 to 10 minutes would not be enough from Nana.
