I have never been in Thailand during the summer months. I was wondering if the islands are accessable (sp?) and worth going to this time of the year? Is one place better than another during this period?

JB-I've been to Samui the last three years in July and always had great weather. Beautiful beaches, and a pretty decent supply of girls. I'll be back this July also. Have fun.

Koh Samet is a two hr van ride, one hour slow boat, the rates are reasonable, and a 3 day weekend will set you back around 6000 for you and that BG you been hangin with. Get to Pattaya and shop around the travel stands. I stayed at Saikow Villas and had a great time, despite gettin sicker than a dog.

Thats crazy because I have actually been to Ko Samet and I also got sicker than a dog! I was in asia for six months spent time in many backwaters from Lao to Cambodial to Small villages in norther thailand, the only time I got sick was on Ko Samet where I thought I might die.
Luckily I was with a good tg who took great care of me.
It was real nice there but I think I want to try somewhere else. Was thinking about KO Chang or KO Samui... Just wasn't sure what it would be like, raining all the time, huge waves, no ferrys, those are my worries...

Yeh, been sick on Koh samet, the food and hygeine are dicey. Had sick mates there too.
A problem with beaches in June, July, August is the hit and miss thing with the rains. Nice weather...great. Rain for four days...not good.
Maybe a beach area with some life near. Phuket?
Pattaya and Jomtien?

Regards Pattaya, the best beach is Naklua, Jomtien is way overrated, Naklua is decent enough, not great but who goes to Pattaya for the beaches?

Beaches on huket are great during those months. Nice and quiet, the way I like it. Problem is the surf. There might be a bit of an undertow at several places and a high swell comming in. Check with the locals!
