IMO:
I can not stress enough the possible significance of visiting an asian females parents. No matter what ones culture infers about this or what you think, it's important should be taken from the view from their cultural aspect.
I think the easiest way to understand the importance of meeting the parents is to think of it as you are meeting them as if you are going ask them to marry the female. Yes. It can be that that significant depending on the family values. I'm not saying you have to ask her to marry you or trying to scary you either.
Another example is that in traditional asian value family setting, if parents don't like you, then you're out.
Now, it's probably a little different with the Thai culture, but the importance / signifance is still there.
Yes, some will say I'm over-reacting, but I'm just keepin' it real. Generally speaking, most asian females will not just bring anyone home to meet the parents.
So, if you are not thinking about this tg as a long term relationship, then I'd pass on the opportunity to meet the parents. Nothing positive can come out it. And if you are not in a relationship with her, then why would you want to meet them in the 1st place??
I should also add that if I had to do it over again, I would NOT have met her parents. We were not bf and gf. I was sponsoring her, but more like a benefactor and not a love interest. She was cool and I wanted to help her get out of the business. Meeting her parents did nothing but complicate the situation.

My last trip to Thailand, I spent over a week with one girl (but still managed to bang 15 others). However, I was quite taken by this one, she was just 21 and absolutely georgeous. We stayed together in a suite at the Shangri-La, I took her to fine restaurants, a gourmet dinner cruise, and night clubs.
She took me to meet her parents, but I didn't think anything of it at the time. Met her Mom, her 2 sisters, her crazy brother, but her dad was sleeping on the floor in front of the TV. They were all very friendly, and I think they liked me.
ABC, do you think she wants to marry me? I'm nearly 30 years older than her! sh_t, wish I had a job!

My post is an "in general" thing regarding asians. I'm not saying that because she took you to meet her family that this is her thoughts. Just an analogy I was attempting to use!! ha ha ha!!
For all I know she might have wanted it that way. Who cares is your were 30 years older. I'm sure you are a hamsum man!! *smile*
But, IMO: There really is no reason why a person should meet any females parents unless it's to plan for the future.
I don't think you hung out with her parents, did you?? ha ha ha!!
I just think that what is sometime lost is the fact that meeting a females parents means more to the female and her parents then they let on. So, one should be cautious when meeting and dealin' with them.
Anyways, good to hear you had a good time. And you've been absent in the "american football" thread. What gives?? ha ha ha!!
