For first timer which is a better place to go? Bangkok city or Pattaya? Is there lot of difference between this two places? For Hotel Quality, Cost, TG, Food, and relaxation???

Since it is your first trip I suggest you try Pattaya.
It is easier to get around the action than in BKK. I know some of the bros. would say that there is more variety in BKK, and the girls are, in general, better looking, and I would agree with them. But I am sure you will find what you want in Pattaya.
You say you want to relax so from Pattaya you could go over to Jomtien beach and chill out there.
Hotel and girl prices are cheaper in Pattaya than BKK also.

When I visited Thailand for the first time, I thought Pattaya was WAY more relaxing than BAngkok. The bar girls/dance girls don't harass you for lady drinks, and in some instances, you can be left alone making it very relaxing for someone to sit back and relax. I was at Queens Castle in Patpong, and I got harrassed like CRAZY for lady drinks. I paid a total of 800B for lady drinks because all the girls surrounded me. Not a fun experience for me. In Pattaya, I did get the occassional approach for lady drinks, but at least I got to sit down and talk to them for a long time and got to know them better. Not as much rip offs as Bangkok, but watch out for pick pocketers late night around 2am on Beach Road. Food, hotels, beer, bar fines, etc. are cheaper than Bangkok, but the girls aren't as attractive as Bangkok, but that doesn't mean that Pattaya doesn't have any hotties. I was walking on Walking Street, and the beer bars have some really HOT looking ladies! Anyways, this is just my opinion. Have fun in the LOS!

Your money will go around 15 to 20% further in Pattaya.Good hotel that would cost 1000 in BKK goes for 800. Barfines are around 200 in beer bar, gogo 400 and up. L/T 1000, S/T 500. FWIW, I would stay in BKK as you will have a great time. Next trip I would go to Pattaya. 7 days

Wether its your first trip or not, you should go to both Bangkok and Pattaya. And if your going in peak tourist season Bangkok believe it or not would be more relaxing than Pattaya. On my first trip to Thailand I went to Pattaya and I absolutely loved it. I did not know a lot about Bangkok. On my second trip I went to Bangkok and I loved it. In my opinion you must go to Bangkok if you go to Thailand. Bangkok is Thailand and Thailand is Bangkok.
Pattaya is probally easier to get wired to but if you do a little research on Bangkok before you go you wont have any worries. You will love it.
