Afternoon all,
First off, before I begin blowing a chimney of smoke up everyone's ass. I’ve been reading this forum for about 2 weeks now and it’s kinda like a thriller novel – haven’t been able to put it down (I read for 19 hours straight for one particular stint). I’ve read hundreds of pages worth - some I consider very valuable some just plain drool. Nevertheless, just like to thank everyone who has contributed to this forum. I’m amazed at the integrity (for the most part) honesty and compassion shown by the majority of members. (just lit the fire in the fireplace)
I myself have never been to Thailand, and you might be surprised when I say I probably never will. Let me explain.
I have previously frequented the shores of Philippines. I have been told the experiences had in the Phils is very similar to that of Thailand. As I’m sure those who have been to LOS, coming back from the dream to the desk job is one of the most shattering experiences one can go through. I believe the comparison commonly accepted is addiction & withdrawal. Whenever I came back to ‘my world’ I found the withdrawal symptoms far too much to bear. I fell in love with the country and it’s people. (I also fell in love with a particular girl which had a catalytic effect) Can anyone relate?
The fantasy itself shook my world, made be doubt some of my priorities which is very detrimental in my current situation. I have perpetual commitments in Australia and have no intentions of reneging on them. I sometimes wish I could just throw in the towel, move to an South-east Asian countries and just live out my life quietly. But instead I’ll live the fantasy though experience through this board’s FR’s and its members.
A brother once said “sometimes I wish I never came to LOS” which is something that I’ve always said even though it’s an echo from my experience with the Phils, I feel that any time spent in LOS will leave me with the same sentiment something that I do not wish to repeat.
Fyi. I have since refrained from visiting the Phils and have stopped all correspondence to the girl I fell in love with. It sounds harsh, and I respect that many people might disagree with my actions. But this is the path I’ve chosen to walk.
Onwards and forward, the fire is really getting going and the smoke is uncontrollable. Smoke must be dispersed.
It is truly an honour to be part of this forum (right up there with receiving the award for winning the colouring in competition in kindergarten). Never would I have thought that such intelligent conversations be found on some of the more ‘grey’ or controversial issues. Add to this the strong morals and ideals that I have honestly never considered associated to the night scene. And of course who can go past the odd fart joke or the equivalent.
But one comment - Geez the tangents some of you guys go off on! Makes for interesting reading though.
As for the views and “IMHO’s” on all subjects. I have great respect for those who stick to what they believe in, but even more so those who are willing to humble themselves and adopt new ones. After all, we are never always right (apart from BK – he’ll ban me if I question the almighty sovereign 555 
I don't consider myself part of the 'brotherhood' quite yet, but if I ever do find myself in the Land of Smiles, I’ll shout a round for anyone who is interested. (I hear bribery in the form of alcohol works well
The information base for anything BKK is exceptional.
BK you have done a great service for everyone interested in the LOS night scene I'm in debt for the insight/entertainment this site has provided to me - and I thank you for that. As a result – you get two beers.
I look forward to the exchange of ideas to be had with whom I see as great men/women. I however, will be limiting my input and spare you posts where I act like a veteran in a country which is still technically foreign to me.

If coming to Thailand would cause you problems. I would suggest you stop visiting forums of this nature. I would not recommend to a drunk that he visit bar websites as this would only entice him to drink or go to Thailand.

Also (if you are real) do you not see that there is a total addiction involved in reading the muck that we post here for 19 hours straight - Get some therapy, and quickly

Your probably right, but im also the guy who stands outside in the cold and dreams about the porsche in the window even though it's not going to happen...yet. To be accurate I should have said I wont be visiting LOS for some time rather than never. As problems would rise if I went now. I do wish to visit in the distant future. Have a facination with asian cultures as I am exposed to them constantly. Regardless I like reading the Adventures all you guys produce. Guess im somewhat of a gluten for punnishment.

As for my 19 hour stint. Yes it is true. I was trying to correct my haphazzard sleeping pattern, seemed like the perfect solution. Besides. The newbie section takes forever to read all the threads.
Wouldn't so much say Im addicted (no im not in denial) Just had alot of time and my hand, and didn't feel like doing anything constructive.
