Sorry if this has been discussed before.
Just wondering how much of a distance is there between
Soi's in the Sukhumvit area. Is it a long walk
from say Eden club (Soi 7/1) to Nana Plaza (Soi 4)

Depends on where in Soi 4 you are staying, from Majestic Suites to Soi 7/1...... will take you about 5-7 min. Short stroll actually and the time includes waiting for the traffic lights to change so you can cross the road.

If Eden has closed and you didn't get to have a romp, the walk (run) to Nana will take about 15 seconds.
If you have just completed a full session with Two of the finer Edenettes, the walk to Nana may take an hour. 45 minutes because your legs can barely support you and an additional 15 minutes because you walked past the Nana intersection while thinking "I can't believe that girl strapped that sucker on and...."

The hard part is crossing Sukhumvit (even number Sois are on the south side and odd Sois on the north side). There are plenty of crosswalks that you can use to get across the street, but you better hit the Stairmaster before you come.

Jaywalking in BKK is a good way to become road kill. The cars and taxis are bad enough but the motorcycles zipping up the sides will nail you everytime. Plus they have wires strung between most BTS pillars so you can't cut across easily. Even when the light changes and you are in a recognized crosswalk, look both directions repeatedly, move quickly to the next curb and keep your rosary (or whatever religious items) handy in the event you get blind-sided. I think the drivers in BKK are some of the worst in the world and pedestrians have no rights other than to die painfully.

IMHO it is a toss up between Pattaya and BKK for most dangerous pedestrian scenario. Funny how eventually you get that battle hardened comfortability with walking too close to the traffic. Scary stuff.

With motorcycles zipping fast across the side of the cars all the time, I wonder how many accidents involving pedestrians & motorcyclist occur everyday in bangkok? Anyone got any clue on that?
