hi good ppl, can someone advise me the subway station name for CHinatown? would like to make full use of the subway/BTS to aovid all the jams.

Currently there is no Sub-Way station in China Town ( and if I am not mistaken there is no plan for one ).
The best way to get to China Town using the Sub-Way is to get off at Hua Lamphong and take a motor-cycle taxi OR a regular taxi or even a leisurely stroll on a comparatively cool day.

There is actually a plan for a station nearer China town on the proposed Blue Line Extension when or if that will ever be built. Some say Tender for construction enquiries could be later this year

For those who haven been living in a cave.... Hualamphong is considered to be China Town.
The area, including Yaowarat, starts at the bridge in front of Hualamphong.

Maybe starts at the 'other' side of the klong... May this mean that Hualamphong is not part of Chinatown??

Yes, I do think it's part of Chinatown.
Anyway, there are more believers in this (plus a small
lesson in Dutch architecture) :
'At the south-eastern edge of Chinatown stands Hualamphong station, built by Dutch architects and engineers just before WWI. One of the city's earliest and most outstanding examples of the movement towards Thai Art Deco, the vaulted iron roof and neoclassical portico demonstrate engineering that was state-of-the-art in its time, while the patterned, two-toned skylights exemplify pure de Stijl Dutch modernism.'

According to you then, the District Office is situated in a cave - because they seem to think that Hua Lamphong does not fall within China Town. Please refer to their maps.
Also the quote that you posted says :- "At the South-Eastern edge ------ " AND NOT " On the South-Eastern edge------- ".
There is a very big difference between the two.

Jeez...station built by the Dutch being argued about by two Dutch blokes, and I thought this place was never colonised....maybe the station is in New Amsterdam....
