Never seen them here. I guess you could find second-hand pairs at Chatujak - never looked. Do people still wear Doc Martens? I thought they died a death in the 1990s.

Hey, don't get me wrong. They are great shoes. My all-time favourite pair of shoes was a pair of Doc Martens Chelsea Boats in tan leather. They were like a second skin. I bought them in Manchester in 1997 and was still wearing them in Sydney last year. Unfortunately, they didnt survive my 'Moving to Bangkok Possessions Culling' last year and I gave them away. For me, Doc Martens started going downhill when they introduced all those trendy designs in the mid-90s and opened Doc Martens 'concept stores' in places like Covent Garden in London. I didnt know they were made in Thailand. If that's the case, then I guess they would be easier to find than I suggested. Good luck with the search.

The FOS stores which are all over the place often have them on sale! There was an large FOS store in the shopping centre opposite the New Holiday Inn last time I was in town!

Cheapest DMs I've seen are 'trendy' E or W coast US shops having sales. Same with Underground. Down to $5 at times for £100-£200 (London prices) shoes. Have to watch out for the biggest problem -- US shops (everywhere) seem to think it's clever to staple (yes, staple) prices to DM soles. Cheaper in Europe than UK, too. Believe it or not, Carnaby St. (at sale time) is one of the cheapest places I've found DMs in the UK. Best thing DM ever did (apart from sponsoring WHU shirts -- serendipity or what?) was bringing back the 'noncey' designs in men's sizes. DMs can be found in BKK. GF MBK, for example. Usually more expensive than UK, but if they've got a sale you can save a few quid. Some policemen wear patent 7 holes -- they're not sure what to do when they see a ferrang wearing the same ) (And I've still got a pair of 14 holes that I bought in 1979!)

Oh, and before I forget, there's an A-bomb in Wardour St. I believe it's Dr Marten's apocalypse.
