I have always enjoyed and admired the various dresses worn by ladies in Hotels etc made by Thai Silk. Does anyone know if there are different patterns for different regions , i.e. some cultural heritage or is design random?

I opened a highly interesting and cultutal thread about Thai Silk.

The enthusiastic response tp this thread by all brothers on the Forum is a "Roaring Silence"!
I can only assume that this is so because the brothers preffers the thai ladies woth the silk off rather than on.
If any of you with TG's or spouses should happen to find a thai silk dress in her cupboard maybe you can ask her which region it is from, take a picture and let me know.

I notice now that the number of viewrs on this thread has gone up again over the last 12 hours by 17%.

I used to date a girl whose sister made silk of very good
quality - some of it was even sold to the queen. She gave
me some material to send to my mother and both the
color and the pattern varied. So I assume that it has
nothing to do with the region it was made in....

No I am actually quite serious about thia silk, Ýit's very beautifull and I would like to learn more. Now I know it's not regional. so I still wander what is the background and history of pattern -making. Ý
(Come on guys, you always wanted to unwrap the thai sik on one of thos ereseptionist girls but never got Ýthe chance (Fact: did not ask).
What I wonder now is whether these types of sil kdresses are worn at family occations or weddings and the like?
