I'm not huge but not small. Waist 40 Size 44 coat. Where is a good place to buy clothes in these sizes at cheap prices. Is is better and cheaper here in the states?

In Bkk go for pratunam clothing market next to Indra Regent Hotel.
You can also use BTS to get there , You find directions from BTS Guide.Demands a little walking , 15 min I say.
In Pattaya , Made in Thailand Market ; 2nd Rd has a good amount of clothes also with large sizes.

You can go to Pratunam like JackRabbit said, and you also can go to the weekend Chatachuck market located at BTS Mo Chit statiion. Although it is only open on the weekends, the prices there are very cheap. Happy hunting!

Remember. At times you get what you pay for. So, don't expect a shirt you bought for $2 to last 2 years!! ha ha ha!!
And, it's always best to get the larger size then what you get in the U.S. if you buy from the street vendor or a Thai brand from a department store. So ... if you normally wear lg, then i'd suggest getting an xl. If you are and xl like me, then you buy the xl and take your chances after it comes out of the wash!! ha ha ha!!
Buying brand name cloths is the same size as in the
tates as well as the same prices give or take a little bit.
I like to buy off brand stuff in Siam square area. Plenty of shops for you to walk around and see.

Now when You mentioned WEM , I'd say that pretty much same gear the NANA vendors are selling , can be found from WEM.
Prices ARE very sensible in WEM , too.
