These DVDs are for the Thai consumer market, so it makes some sense .... Maybe they don't want us foreigners to see it. You might think Thais are only interested in their own soundtrack and foreigners in the English soundtrack. However, fact is that 'soundtrack' VCDs/DVDs rent out faster than thai dub VCDs/DVDs. Also, sometimes it happens with English spoken movies that there is a Thai/ English soundtrack but no English subtitles .... But as Griffin said .... this is TIT.

Depends on the region of your DVD player and the DVD. If I am right, England is Region 2. That means if the DVD is region 3 (Thailand), you're out of luck. Most, if not all, DVD players in Thailand are sold as All region. That means you can play any DVD (regardless of the region). Most Thai (original) DVDs are Region 3, most copies are all regions. If you buy it from eg amazon.co.uk chances are that the disc is Region 2. If your DVD player is Region 2 you can have it modified in England to All regions for a small fee. American DVD are Region 1 and won't play on Region 2 (Enlgand) DVD players.

Ignore the DVD Region rubbish, and get yourself a decent DVD player capable of playing all regions, and defeating much of the RCE tricks from the (mostly, American) studios. Region Free DVD players can be had in the UK just as well as anywhere else. I highly recommend the CyberHome CH-500 unit. Not only is it extremely cheap, but is also quite high-quality. Then you can safely buy any DDV, anywhere, and play it just fine. The whole Region Coding mess was invented by hopelessly stupid (par for the course) US business executives - none of which actually use DVD players.
