I checked the cnet reviews and the nokia 6600 looks pretty good, but alas it is only a tri-band (900/1800/1900) phone. I am interested in an unlocked quad-band phone for use at home (Cingular) and in LOS.

Regards

I just sold my shitty old Moto E365 for 1k and got an older model Nokia 3200 (2nd hand)

camera on it sucks pretty bad, but otherwise it works pretty damn well, and the infared connection to the laptop is groovy for sending SMSs from a keyboard

technically, could surf the web via GPRS, but don't feel like paying the going rates for that

no more Motorola for me, 1st one I had was great, the StarTac, but the MicroTac sucked, and those new square models have an earpiece with the volume so f***in' low you canNOT hear if there's even a freakin' bicycle passing by

Motorola's phones are the best advertisement for Nokia's

Wouldn't reccommend the V3.
only 1 reason....

5MB internal memory??
No external memory option??
How the Fook could Motorola have missed that out??

WTF???

How many contacts, photo's, notes could you save on that???
Seems like it's the ZX81 of the new millenium.

I just got the Sony Ericcsson K750i. not the best phone, but 34mb internal memory and comes with a 64mb Memory stick duo. 2 mega pix digital camera etc etc...

would deffo reccommend it if you want a change from Nokia.

Does anyone know if I can get a mains charger, incar charger for the k750i anywhere in BKK?

cheers

Omar

I've got a V3, provided by my office. Don't love it (although it looks good). Don't hate it. It's a phone and it makes phone calls and sends and receives messages.

If I wanted megapixel snapshots, I'll use my camera.

If I want internet acccess, I'll use my computer.

If I want extra memory, I'll eat more fish.

Convergence my arse!

The razor isn't a bad phone, it's a damn good one actually. I just bought one here in the U.S. you really really have to "hack" the phone to bring out its full capabilities. It's one of the most highly modifiable cell phones to date. You can even adjust the loudness of the speaker way beyond its factory settings and unlock video capture. Ditto for the reception, you can tweak it for wider call range. If you're especially knowledgable you can even completely redo the internal settings in order to change firmware menus and all that jazz. Plus there's all that standard stuff you can do like make your own custom mp3s, wallpaper, et al. The price ranger around these parts is down to around the $250-300 range on ebay. You can find free deals through amazon but it comes with a contract.

One thing I hate about the Nokia is that they have no flip phones. Candy bar style phones are just uncomfortable to use and carry.

I bought this phone several months ago. I had it unlocked by T-Mobile in the USA. After the incentive cost it was about $50.

I am using it now in thailand with an Orane sim. 7 baht a minute to call back the USA beats whatever the T-mobile deal would have been. The phone works great in thailand without loss of features.

The V3 Razr is not the best phone in the world. I think the Nokia's that I have had are far beter. But for small sized phones sold in the USA by the majopr acrtriers that are quad band, this is as good as it gets. If you want to unlock for free buy from T-Mobile in the USA. No other USA carriers are openly unlocking there phones for there customers.
