I recommend getting a case as soon as you buy the Nano, they scratch like crazy. Try & get one with a screen protector for added strength. Also recommend swapping put the stock headphones for something a bit better ( Apple headphoes are rubbish )

The *BLACK* nano give the appearance of scratching like crazy, because scratches show up on black plastic easier than on white plastic.
Either way, I strongly recommend either way to spend an additional $24 on The Invisible Shield (theinvisibleshield.com) abd applying it very carefully. Once applied, the surface is incredibly well protected.
In terms of filling it with music, you can grab one of the streamed music 'radio' stations with whatever tool they have on the PC to do that, or else use something like AudioHijack on the Mac.
As for getting some good Thai pop -- head over to your local Thai community, and see if someone can bring in some CDs, while you bring your laptop. You *have* made friends in the local Thai community, right? Your girls gonna need a decent infrastructure when she gets here, I'd think... (besides, that's how you get free CDs)
