Well, I'll add some input to be taken with a grain of salt... first in terms of meals with a great view.... Bayoke restaurant is to Sirocco about what Pratunam is to Emporium ground floor... a matter of taste and means, once was enough for me...
Anyway Boa Bae is a wholesaler market as well, many shops will only sell items by the dozen. Even in Pratunam retailers go and buy there, but they need to buy several pieces of the same item to get a cheaper rates than individuals. Where Pratunam shops buy is a different issue but I seemed to noticed lots of chinese made garnments last time I went to Bobae. You can go there at around 3 or 4 am, it's the time the dealers on the walking path open their stall and some cheap goods to be had.
About statuettes and small gizmos there's a market in Chinatown I forgot the name of where shops are selling items to retailers by the dozen as well. Might be interesting to you.
AP, find it about as easy to find cool large size local clothes in Bangkok than naked birds in a mosquee

Fire guts part of Bo Bae market

Fire swept through part of the Bo Bae wholesale garment market in the early hours of yesterday, gutting or seriously damaging nine shophouses.
The blaze was thought to have been sparked by a short circuit in a street power transformer caused by heavy rain, Pathumwan district director Surakiat Limcharoen said.
The transformer exploded, sending sparks flying into the second floor of an adjacent shophouse where large quantities of textiles and clothing were stored.
The building went up in flames and the blaze quickly spread to nearby shophouses, Mr Surakiat said.
Narrow streets prevented fire trucks from getting close to the scene. Firefighters were forced to play water on the flames from outside the heart of the conflagration. It took them an hour to bring it under control. Two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation.
No deaths were reported, but at least 29 residents were left homeless.
The fire-gutted part of the market has been declared a danger zone.
Mr Surakiat said six of the nine shophouses were badly damaged and might have to be torn down.
It was not the same area of the market where a major fire caused considerable damage on Dec 29 last year.
Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin said a proper fire safety plan was needed for Bo Bae, Bangkok's largest wholesale garment market.
Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department staff had been told to make sure fire alarms and fire extinguishers at shophouses in the market were properly maintained.

thanks for your post bobe is a wholesale market of cloths I know it and have been to bobe many times
my friend told me that Bombay talaat means Bombay market and it is located on the road towards pattaya
i have asked him to search for the visiting card on any shop of that locality then it can be clear
as soon as I get a result I will post here
more information awaited from members if possible
