If you're willing to hoof it a little, I saw a pretty good replica Kirium at the open-air market beside the Major Bowl at Ratchayothin in June. The market is only open on Sundays and consists of stalls/tables run by private operators. It was listed at 4000B and this was before any bargaining.

unforunately, i left bkk for home on the 28th, sunday. if the quality is good and it was for the forumla 1 model, than 4000 baht would not be too bad at all. the other kirum series, i can get a decent grade "a" for about $20 US still in mainland china or something. but i haven't seen a good fake of the forumla 1 watch though.

fastmover - is that market you mentioned the only decent place in Shanghai? I usually try to avoid it for watches, but on my last trip was too lazy to go anywhere else. I think I paid ~120rmb for a Rolex...usually I go to this market outside the city.

In China, you can buy anything anywhere, just flash the cash. However I think that the level of quality and the competion for price, is better at the Xiang Yang Market.
If you really wanted to get the best price possible, go to the location where the watches are fabricated.
Where is that? Hell! Where is Amelia Erhart, or Jimmy Hoffa?
And, I am sorry, but you say you 'think' you paid 120rmb?
You had better explain that.
Maybe you 'think' you bought a watch!

OK I hunted the various markets for High end Rolexes last week. First stop was the MBK, obviously the big watch shops don't deal in them. The smaller shops have a limited quantity.
I tried at least 10 differnt small watch shops but they all had poor quality with flaws and they all wanted around 4000 Bhats. I almost gave up finding a good one.
Then on the last day I was in Sukumvit and there was a lady displaying brocures and I asked to see the watch and it was also bad. I told her that I wanted Top qiality. she said that she would take me if I was serious. I said yes.
She took me to the shops to the right of the Ambassador hotel near the Beer Garden. The first shop had some excellent quality Rolexes. The guy put a lighter to the glass and showed me that it was crystal and top quality. This was definitly the best, the only give away is the weight.
I told that guys that I worked in Bangkok and if it stops or screws up I will bring it back after 3 months. He said no problem and that it was rock solid.
He wanted 4000, I said I had only 2700 and needed to change money. He got nervous that I may not come back and just took the 2700 and gve me the watch.
So check him out maybe you can fine something you like.

Haven't yet bought a "high-end" Rolex imitiation, but I did buy an avergae one from a guy that peddled 'em near Suk Soi 7. That was about 1.5 years ago. My TGF told me after I bought it that she had bought a similar one for her Dad and it died ("hang" ) after 3 months. I figured, for the 750 or so Baht I'd payed, 3 months was okay.
Well, 1.5 years later, it's still going strong. Figured the battery should have died by now, as new batteries I've put in my other watches since then, have. Amazing Thailand 
People in the States are too embarrassed to ask me if it's a fake, although those who know about the "sweep second hand" jerking along on mine just smile. Only problem is it has a 31 day calendar, so I have to help it along every other month. Small price to pay for the humor it affords me when I wear it.

Actually I spent around 40 minutes check out the watch. I checked every digit on the date clock also checked out all the functions, to make sure that it did not have any obvious flaws - thanx to the tips here in the forum.
The guy noticed that I was no push over so he pulled out several other watches and showed me the flaws in them to prove this was a better quality watch.
Also I bought an automatic as you don't have to keep replacing batteries and have to explain at the watch repair store that its a fake.
As soon as I came here I compared it with a friend of mine who has the exact same watch - an original. Even the movement is smooth and cannot tell. The only give away is that the watch is not as heavy. Even the quality of the strap is good. All the lnk screws are in good condition etc.
So if you take the time most definitly you can find a good one I am sure, also bargain hard. Its very relative to how his business is doing that day and you may get a great deal.
The guy also said that it was made in a certain factory - fogot the name.
