Daffy,, wasn't Japan the same way 35 years ago,, cheap copies, bad quality ? Now Jap cars and many others products are first rate but no longer extremely cheap.
Maybe China can get there as well in 20-35 years -- once it educates their citizens, and teaches them proper hygiene, and manners -- all of which the Japanese have had all along, I recall.

At least the Japanese were smart enough to invite and implement new ideas and then come back and beat America in the auto industry.
Not really the in the communist mindset. I would laugh about the propaganda that the polictians were purporting in the USA that Red China was a real threat to the world. They cannot even make toilets that do not leak that cause severe water shortages in their country. I wonder how many of their bombs would hit the target.
It seems the best way that Chinese are successful is by leaving China and living somewhere else.

Oh, but don't you recall, every now and then there's some military yokel talking about how their missiles can reach the American West Coast... whenever the USA has some disagreements with China... generally, such statements are really just reason to chuckle.
Like the recent interview with a Chinese official, who essentially boasted that there is NO censorship in China... ever. No Chinese Firewall, no blocking of internet sites.
"Sometimes we have trouble accessing certain sites, but that is a different problem..."
When the BBC journos pressed on, the guy got all flustered.

Not too worried about that either (being successful, that is) seeing as how they neither have the technology, nor the strategy to do such a thing... which isn't to say they wouldn't try... but I used to consider them to be a bigger threat than they really are.

Does anyone wonder where Daffy Duck gets his imperious information on all things Asian when he has never lived in ANY Asian country for anytime longer than it takes to get his dick sucked a few times?
The only thing he has got right so far on a number of different threads is, that iPods are made in China.
Oh, and if I have missed an essential piece of Duck history I am sorry, but he obviously was not able to interpret what he was culturally subjected to.
And this guy carries weight huh!

I freqeuntly stay at the Hilton Hotels when I travel. Last year they sent me a 20 GB Ipod as a token of appreciation for my many years of loyalty. This year they made the same offer and I selected the new 30GB Ipod. I was going to choose the Boz Ipod sound system, but went with the newer Ipod.
