i was in there 2 days ago with my son to buy some
game boy games which are real, he saw some films too so its papa papa !! I got into buying 3 at 100 baht each, they just have the sleeves and you wait 15 mins then they bring them too you. None of them work to me its nothing, throw them away never go back. The wife however will go or my second step -daughter will with a few of the family next week to give them a piece of shit,
get the money back or real ones that play. They all buy them somewhere else and pay 40 baht each. I will go along for the entertainment it worth the 300 baht.
I have also come to the conclusion its almost impossible to buy legal no copied play station vids in the kingdom, I will keep checking to find them but dont expect much.

Don't blame the DVDs, but rather your DVD player. Some players refuse to play copied DVDs.

I've bought almost 60 of them in the last years and all of them could be played on my player.

A better (and cheaper way) nowadays is to buy a premium Rapidshare account (US$10 per month) and search for movies you want on miscellaneous warez web sites.

Download them in Xvid format, burn them on a DVD (6-7 of them fit on a blank DVD) and make sure you have a DVD player which supports DIVX.

Of course, not Thai sub or soundtrack.

Report from Bangkok Post dated Thursday 2 August 2007 :-

Police arrest computer parts thief at Pantip Plaza
=====================================

Police have caught a computer thief they say stole parts of 100 computers from 34 schools and public offices in Bangkok and Nonthaburi.

Thanawat Charnchai, 33, was caught on Monday at Pantip Plaza in Ratchathewi district. Police charged him with burglary.

Police believe Mr Thanawat is part of a gang and are searching for the other members.

During questioning, Mr Thanawat implicated Nopadol Kaewma, 37, who owns three Doctor Com Service shops in the IT shopping centre.

Mr Nopadol has previously been charged with trading in used computer equipment without a licence.

Crime Suppression Division commander Pongpat Chayaphan said police acted on a complaint filed by Chuchart Kanjanatanachai, chief of Nonthaburi education zone 1 office.

The complaint said that since late last year computers have been stolen from 14 schools in Nonthaburi and 20 government offices in Bangkok and Nonthaburi.

Warayut Sukwat, who heads the investigation, said the thieves stole mainly CPUs and RAMs.

Nearly 200 stolen computer parts were traded at Pantip Plaza during the period of the crimes.

Witness accounts pointed to Mr Thanawat, who once served two years in jail for stealing from the Skill Development Department under the Labour Ministry. He was released in 2004.

He has been linked to other thefts in several areas, including at Dhonburi Rajabhat University in 2006, and stealing computer parts from Pathumthani University this year.

A search of Mr Thanawat’s room in a motel found CPUs and other stolen equipment.

Pol Gen Warayut said Mr Thanawat liked to dress in a uniform to give the impression that he was a staff member of the schools and universities he targeted, so as not to attract suspicion.

He would wait until dark before stealing, mostly taking off with CPUs, main boards, RAMs and projectors.

‘‘I stole on the orders [of computer shops],’’ Mr Thanawat said, adding he was paid 700 to 1,500 baht apiece.

His clients were computer shops in Pantip Plaza and Zeer Rangsit, which are the major computer centres in the city. Police say their investigation is likely to widen.

Pornpit Chang-Im, acting director of Wat Koh-non Ratbamrung school, approached the Crime Suppression Division yesterday to inspect seized evidence.

‘‘The school’s 29 computers were stolen,’’ she said. ‘‘Now students and teachers are taking turns guarding our computer lab.’’

She said the school will organise a kratin project to raise funds to buy new computers.

Police investigators also detained five other shop owners in Pantip Plaza and Zeer Rangsit on a charge of trading in used equipment without a licence yesterday.

Does anyone have any reccommendations on where I should buy an iPod? I want to get one of those video ones, and the bigger, the better. Can be in Pantip or anywhere in Bkk.

Also, do you know why I can't start new topics? I don't think I'm a 'newbie' anymore?

Thank,
BrianD

I bought mine (5th gen, 60Gb) at one of the Apple Stores near the elevator (3rd or 4th floor).

They should have the newer 160Gb... probably around THB 15,000.

Also some good (Apple) stores in Siam Paragon.. prices about the same...

For your other question, shoot 'bkkz' a PM.

Why should it be not safe?

BUT!: I bought Photoshop there the other day and the KeyGen programm to create your illegal license key had a Trojan virus waiting for me... Whow, that was close, but I have a good virus detection (a-squared) running so bite-the-dust-Trojan it was... At home I found a very old laptop I don't use any more, and I let the Trojan horse free on that one to get my license key Btw. a VM would do I guess, or not?
