Whatever you do, don't be shy to offer ridiculously low prices, here is why....
Tonight I went shooping for some things for my boy. He loves helicopters, so I wanted to get either an inexpensive one that does not matter to much if he breaks, or something good that would do some tricks. Anyway found one that takes off, with remote control and stuff, not one you fly, it just launches vertically. Shop on Sukhumvit said 12, 000 baht, after I finished choking on my spit and laughing, I walked out and as I exited the door she yelled 'ok 3000'. I walked around soi 3 and the same thing was 1500b first price and could be had probably for 1000b
Also wanted some thai boxing gloves, Sukhumvit wanted 650 for a pair, got them in Silom for 400b including a pair of boxing shorts, original price was 650 for the gloves and 350 for the shorts, could probably get even for less if you wanted to hunt around, but I get bored easily.
Some kids t-shirts that have the stuffed animals on the front, Silom was asking 350b each and I have got them before on Sukhumvit for 100b.
Kids levi jeans, original she said, lol, wanted 800b, got for 150b.
Again these are tourist areas, go elsewhere out of the way and you can get for a little less, but I also like the perving that happens to be attached to the tourist areas, so paying a little extra for that privilege is not so bad.
I wish this bargaining system worked on the same ratio for the bg's.

Quite right. I buy stock in Pratunam clothes market where you can ask for the wholesale price (depends but usually buy at least three items).
The fun is seeing the same stuff in the night markets where the tourists meander.
A typical buy in Pratunam might cost 100 baht, and then you see the same thing you bought in the daytime for sale in the nightmarkets for 700 or 800 baht.
And the tourists feel great knocking the price down to 500 or 600 baht.
Imagine how great the stall holder feels?

Yes they are right...
I was buying these watches in MBK. The girl started bargaining from 7000 B per watch. We were 2 friends It took us about 30 minutes and you would not belive that we bought 3 watches for 6000 B. that is 2000 B per watch and these are the AA quality.
it has been now 6 months since we bought the watch and they are working fine till now.
