Hello,
Just trying my luck here.
Wonder if you punters out there know of any place that sells good used golf clubs.
Question is , is it worth it? Are there any steals?
My rational of thinking is that, given the high popluation of expats in Thailand, they might leave their golf gear prior in leaving.

I presume you are in Bangkok so can give you this suggestion. Go to Soi Thaniya between Silom and Suriwongse Roads. Soi Thaniya is located between Patpong and Robinson's on Rama IV Road. The Thaniya building has three floors of mostly golf shops selling primarily new clubs. Some of the shops deal in used clubs also so you might find something here. Another suggestion is for you to check out the Pattaya Mail on the internet. There are clubs for sale listed in the classifieds sometimes. My experience is that none of them, either used or new, are cheap in Thailand. I would suggest you have a friend bring back a cheap set from the US if possible. Enjoy your game.

This is slightly off topic but pertinent. All you golfers who are living in, or visiting the Land of Smiles, especially Phuket and Bangkok: beware a crook by the name of Neville Nicholson. He used to operate under the company name "Golf Orient". This guy has ripped off at least three fellow farang for millions of baht as "investments" in his company, then squandered all the $$$ on booze, land for his girlfriend, etc. Two of his victims are Americans, one is a fellow Brit, there may be others that we don't know about.
Nicholson has an arrest warrant out for him from the Crime Suppression Division, we (the Law Office of Professor Bhoonsak Wanabongse) brought a criminal complaint against him in the names of two of the victims and he may have fled the Kingdom. But maybe not. He owes a lot of money to hotels and golf courses in Phuket. He may still have a website operating and may have changed company name. He hangs out at the Crown Royal Patpong 2 when in Bangkok. BEWARE. He is a con man specializing in golf scams. He brokers memberships, etc. BEWARE. He used to work in computer section of the Hong Kong Shanghai Bank in HK but skipped out of HK ahead of credit card debts to his own employer and a big tax bill to the government so he can't go back to HK. He is in his 50s and is a UK citizen.
There's not much I despise more than a farang expat con man who victimizes his fellow farang expats! We should be watching each others' backs not stabbing them.
