I go to the Dusit hotel because they have a cigar shop in the lobby. Not sure if they are cheap or not, but they do have a great selection.
As for a good cigar, I think that is a matter of opinion. If you live in the U.S, then I would suggest you try a cuban made one, since we can not get them here!!

ABC is correct, I believe the store is called "Siam Havana", a great little shop with a great collection. I prefer Cubans because, like ABC, I live in the US and can not get them here. The bands I prefer are Cohiba and Davidoff, they have cigars that range from 150b to over 2000b, you should treat yourself at least once and go for the expensive ones. There used to be another one I went to at Gaysorn Plaza but the entire plaza is closed until "Early 2002", but as they say, "that is Thailand" (TIT). Have fun smoking!!!

I passed by Gaysorn Plaza at the end of May 2002 and saw the sign that said that they will be opened in "Early 2002". Well, we are already in June 2002 and they are NOT opened yet ! Well, as they say, "That Is Thailand " (TIT)

You can get a good selection from this shop at the Oriental Hotel. I like Cubans too. Cohiba is my favorite! Sigolo IV and V. Cigars are not cheap though. It is about 800-900B each.

Great.. I've got my mouth watering for a real cuban.... One should be able to get them a few miles south of me in Tijuana Mexico, but whenever I'm down there I begin to seriously doubt whether they're authentic or not.....
Lots of knock off products as I'm sure there are in Thailand...

lets get the cigar - discussion out in the open. I too love a good cigar after a great meal and before sex, but are you talking about cigar consumption Bill Clinton - style here ? Incidentally, maybe Bill Clinton could make more of a diplomatic breakthrough between US and Cuba than Jimmy Carter, as the Cubans and Bill have more in common regarding the basics, i.e. cigars and their usage
