Wondered if Pantip is still in operation for copied software and DVD. I know it used to be good but I read somewhere that the authorities were closing in and shutting this side of the business down.
Would like to hear recent reports please

was there at 16.00 clock today they were selling it openly otherdays you have to look around. Normally if you go there in the morning the police is not there around 10.00 but after it can be hassel in the good shops. The DVD sexy movies are always there as usual.

Software CD's are quoted about 150 baht, but you can usually negotiate that down, especially if you buy multiple CD's. If you paid 500 baht, you should have recieved a BJ with that.

Cocowalk (near Rachatawee BTS).... software 80 baht per CD. No DVDs though.

jeez, we paid 500b a disc in the early 90s in Rayong, back then a 3-4 hour drive from BKK...
and they were of course cheaper in BKK.

Went to Pantip Plaza this afternoon. The whole place seem to have changed compared to when I last visited 6 months ago.
The place is quite quiet. A few "stalls" on the Ground were closed and were covered with canvas.
Didn't spot any shops/stalls sellling pornographic DVDs/ VCDs - must be due to the clampdown by the authorities.
