every of the major malls in bkk are closing earlier? is that true?

Funny you should ask, I was thinking about posting my experience just last night and how different it was to many many nights just a month ago.
We decided to go to the movies at Discovery, missus called and booked seats as usual, movie started at 9pm, so we got there at 8.15pm.
The ticket office had fcuked up our booking and the movie we wanted was not even on in the gold class at all, so we decided to walk over to MBK and see what was on there, bugger all.
So, this was 8.30 and decidied just to walk around shopping. At 8.15 even we noticed some shops closed and many in the process of closing, by 8.30 to 9.00, everything was pretty much closed. We wandered around Siam Square and the shops were all shut, streets black and basically deserted.
So it seems this town is well and truly fcuked now.

News I heard this week was only department stores, hypermarkets and shopping malls will be closing by 9pm during the week and 10 pm on weekends. But movie theaters are supposedly able to stay open past that time in the malls. Also heard Major Cineplex was going to do a deal for discounting tickets for those later shows but don't what price.

Monday - Thursday, Open 11.00AM - Close 9.00PM
Friday - Sunday and Holidays, Open 10.00AM - Close 10.00PM
