is it worthwhile to buy compact flash cards for digital cameras at Panthip plaza?
say 512mb.
compare the prices in Singapore (SIm Lim sq) and Malaysia (KL's Imbi plaza or JB) ?
anyone knows of a shopping centre in KL that sells only computers hardware and software, similar to Bkk's Panthip plaza?

HOLY Cow - I just picked up a 1gb Compact Flash card in US mail order for $80. You might be better off scouring US mail order sites, and figuring out how much it would cost you with postal charges. Might end up still being much cheaper.

Guess I will be getting mine before I leave then as it will cost me about 2,208 baht for standard or 3,353 baht for the ultra 2 type, that is for a 512 mb.
Even a 1 gig standard compact flash is only 3,562 baht where I am.
Have no idea about prices for Singapore or Malaysia
4100 seems really expensive

I buy computer parts at Newegg.com, very reliable online retailer with competitive prices. Newegg is selling 512 CF at $35 for generic and $49.99 for Sandisk Ultra II.
512 MB compact flash
I just bought a 2GB Sandisk Ultra II from them for $165. Their fedex saver shipping was less than $4 with no tax. I ordered the card Sunday night and should get it Thursday, faster if I was on the West coast.
To check the speed of different cards check http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007-6133 Faster cards cost more. Speed doesn't matter in many applications.

I've always found these cards to be more expensive in Thailand than in the US. Same for cameras and laptops.
