Has anyone bought a bottle of Johnny walker at a Airport duty free shop?
What's the typical price? Is it cheaper to buy it at a airpot duty free shop than USA liquor store?

BKK airport I pay 900 or 1K for a liter of Walker Black. Much cheaper then what the local liquor store charge in Philly. Cigs are cheap also. Duty free store is located in the baggage claim area.

Gold label is 18 years old.Never seen it in BKK or LOS. Only in Europe and USA.My guess is it'll be expensive if they have it.

JW Gold is one level below Blue. The price of Gold is around $60-$80 in USA.

I have even seen Green label which is cheaper than Gold but more expensive than Black.
However, JW official site doesn't show any information about Green. Green may be discontinued label.

Is it another blended Scotch? Without wishing to offend (each to his own, etc.), JW has a certain cachet in Thailand (for some strange reason) and is often 50-100 per cent more expensive than some single scottish malts or Irish whiskeys.
Supermarket prices are something like 900B for 700ml JWBL vs 480B 700ml Jamesons. Many supermarkets have irregular 'special offers' on drinks and I've seen 1000ml JWBL for less than 900B. Duty free in Bangkok is almost always more expensive than a supermarket (booze or fags...whoops, cigarettes  ) and if you go to a big Tescos or BigC you'll find a selection of spirits as good as you'll find at BKK duty free.

since I am a member of both the single malt scotch society and johnnie walkers striding man's society, I feel I can contribute a little to this thread (eventhough all johnnies' are blends).
here is the order of johnnnies price wise (going up)
red
black
green
gold
blue
all 5 labels are currently sold in the usa. this is an attempt by JW to compete against the inroads made in sales by the single malts.

Gold is not that expensive here in Thailand. can get a little under 2200 baht.
Green, formerly known as PURE MALT is excellent (IMHO it better than all the others). but the bars here (such as Song Salung in Thong Lo) have promotions that beat the prices off of Duty Free. its around 1400-1500 baht
But if you really want a deal cross the border to Laos or Vietnam and no duty on anything. and its much cheaper. you can get Penfold's wine that cost 4000 baht at emporium or Villa Market for 1100 baht there and it genuine.

I saw JW Gold priced at US$34 or so at the airport duty-free upon arrival. JW Black at "duty-free" is a joke because it can be had for the same price downtown.
