There are a few places near Saphan lek but its all bad stuff and cheap. Anything over a 5 pound line strength and the rod will crack from that never mind the fish. Tell us are you doing sea fishing, river, lake etc.
If you going it alone, and it’s your first time you need a bit of help out there. Thai fisherman do not do it the same as course fishing etc around the world.
I would suggest unless you want to but and re-sell your tackle away from Thailand just go to one of the well stocked fish farms for you fishing and they can give you the tackle there and then. The right stuff for the day your there. For EG Sams fish farm Pattaya.
I do know of a good place for fishing equipment just after soi Oh Nutt sukamvit sio 77 on the left before the BTS station. Good prices and ok stuff. Dose some pro reels both course and sea equipment.

All the Department Stores Like Robinson or Central sell Fishing equipment. Usually it's arount the sport section.
Have no idea if it's good stuff, but maybe just have a look when you are in one.

Hi bros, thanks so much for the infos. I'll be arriving bangkok this coming friday staying in Pratunam area. Btw, is sukhumvit soi 77 very it very from pratunam? I'll try to visit saphan lek and some department stores to check it out. I'm buying some sea fishing stuffs for own use.

There are shops all over selling quality equipment. I bought some stuff with a thai friend and he took me to many different places to get the best deal. Sorry I did not know where we were, but it was not downtown BKK.
