Is there a place in Bangkok I can buy cigarettes to take home with me in large numbers? British ones if possible (Regal, Lambert + Butler, etc).

Go to any of the 7/11's around nana area they carry Beson and hedges gold in packs of 200 for 8 UK pounds ish depending on the exchange rate. They will carry about 10 sleaves so go to all the surrounding ones and clear them out. They get re stocked on ciggs every day.
If you go to any of the stores out side of this area they only carry one or two sleaves in the store at once.
They are the same as the UK ones but they have thai on them or course.
I am sure you understand the fine that s now in place by HMCE in the UK for ciggerates if your cought well over the limit and they do not let you off no more.
You can also try the small store to the right of the asia hotel they will cut you a deal if you buy in large amounts, my dad bought a stack when he was here last. Asia hotel is get off off the BTS at ratchatiwee station.
Carfour or tesco do not stock beson but you can buy off them Malb red

Since I can't post a new thread as a newbie, I found the closest thread that applies.
I am interested in finding a place to buy Cigars. I found the place next to the Conrad. It is too pricey for my tastes.
I know the bars all sell the same brand in the same display container, I haven't tried those yet, and don't expect much. Any other good spots for reasonable priced cigars?

Hard to say.
Depends on what you consider "reasonable."
I purchase Havanas in the basement of the Hyatt on Suk.

Most of the cigars I found in BKK were over priced ( but the going rate for BKK). You will probably have to bite the bullet and pay the bucks for a decent cigar. I once paid about $12 in bkk for a cigar that would normally go for $4-6 back home. But worth it if you really have an itch for a decent smoke.
The drug store on Suk/Soi 4 as you walk toward Ploenchit center has a pack of King Edwards that have been on display since 1998 and you could probably negotiate a good price for those.
