All,
I realised during my last trip that it is possible to buy a Thai prepaid SIM card without ID or a thai address for a dirt cheap 200 THB including 50 THB credit at the Pantip Plaza. Operators are DTAC / Happy for instance or One2 Call or Orange, etc..
IF your mobile phone is Sim-locked and it does not work with a thai Sim card, they can unlock it for 300 THB.
If unlock is not possible (new models), a new cheap motorola mobile phone costs around 2000 THB.
With a Thai SIM card, you are reachable under a thai number and you can call straight away within Thailand for 1 THB/min or international for as cheap as 7 THB/min if you dial 009 before the full number.
