Are there any events, shows, concerts, etc. likely to appeal to Westerners? Any concerts by Western rock/pop groups, for example? In December and January.

Jan 15.....Eric Clapton in Bangkok...prices bt1000-Bt5000 for tickets. Can't get much better than that.
