Does anyone know about a good place to buy furnitures in BKK or Chang Mai or Chang Rai ? I'm thinking of a cupboard, sideboard typo thing, maybe with this chinese-like red varnish or something
I'm neither looking for modern furnitures, nor for expensive antiques... just something in between, good retro stuff and remakes would be fine as well...
Any ideas?

Micki, there is a place called wood street.
It is out Bang Sue way and I would have to find the biz card to give you the correct soi name for a taxi driver.
It is a soi that has all wood and building materials and lots of furniture also all the way through it.
Should find what you want there.
It is in Bangkok by the way and if nobody else knows the name of it, PM me and I will try to find the card wherever it is.

There's a great place that specializes in just this type of stuff really close to the Euro Inn. Try hailing a cab [pointing yourself facing away from Sukhumvit] and take a ride down each of the Sukh. sois 39, 35 & 33. Tell the guy to your going to Sukhumvit 23. As they wind through that back way, you'll see lots of furniture boutiques interspersed throughout the area. The one I'm thinking of will be on the lefthand side.

Anything along sukhumvit is priced for the tourist, expat or well healed.
If your looking for right prices, get out to the soi I desrcibed, looked for the card yesterday and could not find, will have another look elsewhere in another pile of crap soon.
Chiang Mia's hangdon area will also provide what you want.

I am planning to import them in bulk quantity and sell in other country, so What wud u recommend ? U have any idea where the direct Manufacturers are located in Thailand?

Yes I could also do with that info as I will be furnishing my new apartment (if it is ever finished). Due to my inherent laziness, unless I have an address I will just end up going to the nearest shop on Sukhumvit and paying far more than necessary.
