I used to buy it canned in Villa supermarket. So you don't need it translated, really, though maybe it'd nice to talk about. This thread makes me hungry. Neua dawng kem might be OK, as CS suggested above--I'll have to ask one of the people at the supermarket sometime (my girlfriend has seen me eat it, but doesn't know what "official name" to call it, other than a description such as CS's). I'm pretty sure you will never find it in the butcher section, unfortunately.

TGF likes corn beef w/ cabbage. I use to make it when she visited me in Bahrain.
Will be in Bangkok tomorrow, so was looking for a good location to have corn beef and cabbage for dinner.

The supermarket on the 5th floor of the Emporium (Suk 24) probably has the largest selection of Western foods in Bangkok.

You're welcome, BK. Though in my opinion the canned brands available are OK, but don't really compare in taste to other methods of preparation or packaging. I too would be interested in buying it sliced... even precooked like that is fine: I could really go for a Reuben sandwich right now. Yummmmmmmm. I gotta stop opening this thread...
