It's been confirmed that the Bangkok outlet of the iconic Swedish brand IKEA will officially be open on Nov 3, 2011. Judging from those giant cranes working 24/7 on the corner of Bang Na-Trat and Eastern Ring roads, we're positive that everything's going according to plans. IKEA Bangkok is said to stock more than 7,500 home decorating items and furniture within its 43,000-sq-meter space adjacent to a 700-seat restaurant serving up Swedish food (we heart their meatballs), which is the largest in Southeast Asia. Worried about the prices? The IKEA's marketing team has just reassured us that their products will cost less than their competitors in Thailand and other IKEA in the region due to the fact that the majority of their goods will be produced here in Thailand. IKEA is also planning to invest another Bt6 billion to open its second and third stores in western and northern Bangkok in the near future. For updates, visit http://www.ikea.co.th.

I pass this construction site every day for work and have never seen such an impressive construction site, so many cranes, so many huge units and covering quite a space, the whole thing seems to be going up very quick. Clearly some foreign project management
