A certain contingent of Thai ladies have taken to greeting me (usually when I arrive with my long time TGF) with the word (s) Baa-khaa...tone= high and rising. Are they saying Crazy Leg? My guess this is something akin to Sugar Daddy......or is it something less than complimentary? Of course I could ask TGF but I'd rather the truth. Thanks....... Baaaahk in 40 days K.F

Roughly translated it means the "dirty old man" or "the sleaze" - I'd find another "baa". Enjoy

depending on the tone etc., since I've not heard how they say it. bPah = Aunt (onder than their Mother) sometimes they call old blokes this usually old blokes who are their boss, sponsor, primary income and guessing the Kaa is just the Sir, you know krup/kaa

Kingfish- I'll expand my original post.... LY could be correct IF what you think you are hearing is what they are saying.....we all know it could be several things depending on the tones... The fact that you are pretty sure it is not a compliment and something like "sugar daddy" makes me conclude they are saying "baa-khaaamm".... (not 100% sure of the transliteration - hold ya fire).... but it sounds close to what you think you are hearing and it means a man who, in English, a woman would call a "sleaze" or someone who'd be called a "dirty old man" no matter what his age. Enjoy.

Minder They are addressing me in a laughing/joking/smiling manner.I have known (three in total) them for a few years now and although they may be jealous (I spend more on her than is the norm) of my TGF I certainly don't get any bad vibes from them..... Definately Khaa not Khaaam........Oh well....... Guess the dirty young man had to turn into a dirty old one sometime or other. P.S I will enjoy Thanks K.F

could possibly be paa with the "+" vowel. as in papa sugar daddy sense of the word. and kaa, while sounding just like leg, is probably formality (as in krub/kaa) in inquiring tone (ie, asking for something).

Baa is the sound a sheep makes ( so my NZ friends tell me) so maybe its FEMALE SHEEP?? joke. Baa as stated throughout can have several meanings depending on tone.
