Sure Yurune. Just like there's a pier directly behind Panthip Plaza for Klong Sang Saeb access too, right?

You were actually wrong on that one, and still are, but I let it slide.

I'll stand by what I posted here.

Stand by it all you like Skip...the reason I waited a couple of days was to check the facts with a taxi driver I know who has the sunscreens, the only part new to me was the free SIM...read the actual sunscreen....it lists about dialling *1201....but hey...you've been wrong before.....

A good link, Yurune. Thank you. I stand corrected. The press release I read glossed over the translating intermediary apparently.

What I let slide was the non-existent pier in back of Panthip Plaza. Good luck confirming that...

Boys boys boys,, non existant piers and non English speaking taxi drivers are not exactly hot topics
If you would like I will admit to removing said peir when innebriated on my last LOS visit,, so it was there but now gone. As for the taxi bit,, if the guy speaks English chat English with him,, if he doesn't then use the 1201 number or even better learn a little Thai and "mai pen rai".
Whether the pier is there or the Taxi driver speaks English matters not,, quality of lifer AND tHAI PUSSY IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT, IMHO

Now I will bud out and mind my own business,,,

Smiles

Its a little confusing as I understand there is more than 1 way to say "I'm sorry" in thai or am I confusing "I'm Sorry" with "excuse me"?

What are the different ways to say "Im sorry" in thai and perhaps list 1-2 examples as to when to say it correctly.

Yurune
the standard would be khor thord khrap

generally a lot of people use thord thii

thord is 'a pardon' khor is the stardard 'khor - noi' asking for something.

There is also khor apai more formal....it's the one the thai authorities use when you try to access a banned website.

there are probably others, but none spring to mind at the moment.

Now....if you look in a dictionary...or at least some....sorry will show as sia jai, but that is not apologising, that is expressing sorrow....e.g. Sorry to hear that.......

Hmm, apparently I've been saying I'm sorry incorrectly as I read it was "sia jai"

My 2 satang worth,,

It makes it easier for me to think of Khor Thod as "bring fault to me" ( sorry my fault),,,, use it if you bump into someone or use a wrong word etc.

Sorry that a bad thing happened to someone else, you should not used Khor Thod,, as it is not your fault.

The confusion caused here is not from the Thai but rather from the English language,, we use sorry for, my fault, and use sorry as an expression of feeling an emotion that happened to someone else but had nothing to do with us ( i.e sorry your Father passed away).
