A better question, sage69, is how will you politely avoid such a relationship with a girl here in Thailand.
But if you're still not sure about reality here... Just have a date. Pay for it. Pay for as much as you can. Ask her how much is her rent. Slip her a little bread. Buy her a little gold. It is so easy, sage69, that a large percentage of this forum is guys trying to figure out ways not to be a sugar daddy, outside strictest ST or LT night encounter. And then, figuring how many other guys are her sugar daddy too. Just have a look at all the threads.
Anyway, this is the language thread, not the relationship thread, so again, just insist on paying for things.
However I think you'd better get a good grip on the lingo before you take that plunge.

Yes.. I realise the sugar daddy question was a little newbie however what I was trying to say is how to bring up such a subject in a tactful way using Thai language. Mostly I am speaking with uni gals on msn in Thai...
Yes ทานอาราย is not a correct spelling for how it is actually spelt in thai. Someone else explained that this was txt speak, ie. deliberately mispelt which is hella confusing for someone new to Thai..
Oh well.. live and learn.

Hi sage69nz... As I said, chatting with uni girls on msn (or any girls in any medium), you're the man so the potential is already assumed. You don't have to bring it up (and honestly I can't think of a polite way to bring it up until you're actually in the situation already). Just make a date with them, and insist on paying for things. It won't take long before the situation is you supporting them. Most of them are looking for that, especially if they're messing with Farangs. Not all, but most. Be careful.
To support or rear someone in the way you mention is often called "leeang".... you can leeang animals, children, or wives... ex.,
Pom leeang ter nan laew (I've taken care of you for a long time)
Leeang ngay jung ( (she's) so easy to take care of)
Leeang ter dai na ja (I can support you --alternately simply 'take care dai na ja' since the English 'take care' is a idiom a uni girl would probably be familiar with)
So! Now you know what you should never say!!!
